Ironing clothes can take up so much of your time, effort, and space at home. But how else are you going to get those nasty wrinkles out of your clothes?

The answer is garment steamers.

The Bizond Mini Clothes Steamer might look small but it’s a workhorse when it comes to performance. It claims to match most of today’s high-end units.

But should you swap your iron for it? Here’s our honest review of the product.

Design and Functionality

The Bizond Mini Clothes Steamer has a really fun black and turquoise color. It’s a welcome break from the usual (and boring) colors most garment steamers come in. Visually, it makes steaming clothes a lot more inviting.

The unit fits perfectly in your hand. It has an ergonomic design that makes it comfortable to hold for long periods. Since it doesn’t get hot while steaming, you won’t have to worry about burning your skin or ending up with really painful blisters.

It weighs only 1.75 pounds. Because of its size, you can take the garment steamer with you anywhere you go. It’s so compact that you can even fit it in your carry-on bag.

Surprisingly, the steamer also features a 9.8 ft power cord. This spells greater freedom and better control while you’re steaming. Its tank is large enough to keep you busy steaming for more than 10 minutes without the need to stop and refill.

Of course, if you were doing your whole family’s clothes, refilling every 10 minutes would really be a bother. However, if you’re just doing a few clothes while you’re on vacation, using the Bizond will be a breeze.

Performance

The Bizond might not be the best choice if you are looking for a heavy duty fabric steamer. But if you are looking for a garment steamer that you can easily take with you on your trips, this one fits the bill.

It heats up pretty fast (read: 25 seconds). By the time you’ve set up your clothes, the steamer will be ready to use. Take note that if you don’t use the steamer for 5 minutes, it will automatically shut down. But if you grab it again, you can use it right away.

Perhaps one of the most interesting features of this garment steamer is its ability to penetrate deep into the fabric to kill odor-causing bacteria. If you’ve been traveling a lot, you’d know how annoying and embarrassing it is to have all your clothes smelling like your suitcase.

This steamer is a great remedy for that. It’ll leave your clothes looking and smelling fresh.

And the best part?

It doesn’t leave wet footprints. It doesn’t spill or spray water either. You won’t have to worry about spills and puddles when you’re using this unit.

Now, apart from its no-leak design, you’ll love how it can work at all angles. You can even use it upside down. You can place it on any surface without the risk of damaging it.

The downside?

If you read the reviews on this product on Amazon, you’ll be highly suspicious. Most of them have nothing but praise for the product which can only mean two things. It’s either the product is that great or the reviews are fake.

And true enough, fakespot.com revealed the answer we’re dreading. Only 50% of the reviews are reliable. Companies pay for these fake reviews to get their product noticed on Amazon. In this case the steamer is pretty good, but I personally don’t feel good about giving money to companies who cheat in such a blatant way…

The company recommends using distilled water to prolong the life of the product.

Final Verdict: A Lightweight Garment Steamer For Light Wrinkles

The Bizond Mini Clothes Steamer is a good choice for people on the go. It’s lightweight, easy to use and it heats up quickly. However, the fact that it doesn’t feature dual voltage might be a drawback, depending on where you travel to. Also, you can’t expect it to completely get rid of deep wrinkles – you need a bigger steamer for that.

If you are looking for a portable steamer that can absolutely get the job done, you’ll be better off with the Sunbeam Handheld Garment Steamer. It’s a bit heavier and takes a longer time to heat up but it can deal with heavier fabrics.
